This was a lot of fun to make. I just took out one of my daggers and stuck it to a tree and started filming.
One of the things that really impresses me is that for smaller objects the Hv30 can gets some nice shallow depth of field. And the manual focus nub works pretty good once you figure how to use it properly.

This was shot entirely with no attachments. Just locked the exposure and shot in good lighting and it looks pretty freaking good.

Shot with an Hv30 (no attachments), TV mode, shutter speed 250, 24p. locked exposure. Shot around 3 to 3:30 p.m. Edited with Final Cut Pro, graded with Colorista.

  • how did you get such a smooth transition of focus from 0:00 to 0:06? Usually the focusing is jagged and choppy on the hv30. There is never a smooth focus transition like yours.

    great video by the way.

  • @sonicballer8888 It's a focus trick I figured out for the hv30.

The trick is to use the entire side of your left index finger to roll up and down on the focus wheel. You can either do this with your fingers facing up to the sky, or down to the floor. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Getting it free using keygens, torrents, or cracks, or borrowed serial numbers is illegal dude.

I also found a way to get a really good Video editor for absolutely free. "Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9"

Now I just gotta figure out how it all works. =/

This is all new to me, but very exciting!
