Shetland Coastguard Helicopters and Lerwick Lifeboat

A compilation of photos I took on Saturday 14th June 2008 on board the Northlink Ferry 'Hjatland' in aid of the RNLI. The boat took us out by Bressay and around to Noss, and then the Lerwick Lifeboat 'Michael and Jane Vernon' and 'Oscar Charlie' (SikorskyS92A MCA Rescue Helicopter) did some winching excercises, along with another a Bond2 Helicopter which was winching on and off the ferry itself. It was a fantastic day and many thanks to all the crew of all the rescue teams for putting on a breathtaking display. This is my first ever movie-clip/slide show, so sorry if its a bit basic, i'm still learning the ropes!

Brilliant compalation, great subject choice and a great eye for a picture, well done for demonstrating a very complicated task and under appreachiated service, brings back memories of doing winching excercises with old Oscar Charlie whilst in Shetland waters.

yes youtube just you go and spoil everyones efforts by removing the music.Its not as if the guy is selling the music to us - if anything its making the music more popular and doing the artist a favour :( Nice slideshow mate :)

oh dear, i should have read the rules more carefully about attatching music, ..total bummer!...its not the same now.!! still, when i get the chance i will re add some great shetland music to this slide show!!

Awesome video, must have been one hell of a day!! The red and white livery helo is coastguard "OC", and the yellow and black livery helo is one of bond offshore's SAR helo. They have one based on shetland and another on a rig in the north sea. Just a little additional info for anyone whom maybe interested! once again, awesome vid!

brilliant pics....ive landed at scatsta mammothes of times and i will never fail to remember that these people are on guard 24/7 for us offshore men/women....god bless you all in whatever curcumstances yous find your selves in...i wish them good. ...brilliant job yous do.
