@iDraw3G No, clearly you have never even done life drawing. Drawing from a photo flattens the figure. You can't slightly shift and get a better idea of the dimension of the figure.

You're sooo wrong. It would not look like a box from real life -- photographs blow out values no matter what because photographs do not have the same value range they do in real life. And it isn't as easy to memorize a flat picture versus actually seeing it three dimensionally, so studying from life IS better in soo many ways. You can't copy the picture, so you have to translate it. Not that you would know, you're probably a horrible artist.
