Founded in 2006, T. Wells productions first started of as a mere dream, as well as a word-of-mouth. Founded by CEO Trivaun Wells, T. Wells Productions was developed inside a room of a 3-bedroom house. Out of kindness, Wells's aunt Fannie Mae allowed him to set up a full-budget studio, allowing local artists from all over to come and record tracks. Working as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut at the time, Wells worked overtime and cut off leisure activities such as clubbing just to save up enough for studio equipment. Succeeding, Wells looked toward buying only the necessary tools needed for producing beats and recording vocals. "I'm all about quality and I look not only for the bad, but mostly the best in things" says Wells boldly. Using a bootleg copy of Fruity Loops for beats and Sonar Cakewalk for sequencing/mixing, Wells was at a steady pace for rising. From staying up late at night to missing breakfast, sacrifices were made in order to ensure progress and advance.
Wells is mostly known for his large, spacious orchestra, as well as his tall, heavy brass section. "If the orchestra isn't fierce & strong or the brass isn't raspy & bold, then it isn't my production", says Wells. "If the snare isn't crispy & pops, or even blunt sometimes, with a lil' flange on the cymbals, then it sure isn't mine!" Wells is known for applying effects to different instruments and throwing in a wrench here and there, bringing more life & surprises to a track. Being from the South, Wells uses an 808 drum kit, along with rich, bright synthesizers to create a track. Over time, Wells admits his deep passion for old school hip-hop and admits that his beats are sounding more and more Midwestern. "It's just something about the "pop" of a snare, the weight of a kick, or even the way a sample is scratched & manipulated that calls my name", says Wells. "That's where my heart is."
