From the first time I heard Alfredo Kraus in Lucrezia Borgia with Montserrat Caballe I fell in love with the effortless elegance of this voice! One tends to forget that his career spanned more years than Pavarotti's and because he was a man of such humility and hated the limelight, very little hype was ever created around this magnificent tenor. He brought utmost integrity to all his roles and used his voice and talent masterfully. What more can one say than BRAVISSIMO!

Sepulté a mi primer hijo en 2002. Su voz me devolvió a la vida. Gracias a Dios que me mandó a Kraus. Mi amor para vos, inolvidable Alfredo!

A voice of such elegance, phrasing, colour and nobility.
I heard him in L'elisir d'amore (opposite Sumi Jo) at Covent Garden.
He was then 64,but sang the most beautiful una furtiva lagrima,in fact the best I have ever heard(live or on a recording).

One of the last great vocal technicians. A premier tenor. The C phrase is done on one breath. No push no strain thank you for posting this glorious video.
