Collecting the message list from the PMS BBS computer onboard the International Space Station. The two computers talk to each other via packet radio. There are many HAM radio operators around the World that use the BBS computer onboard the International Space Station. Have a look for the IFC, The International Space Station Fan Club, for more information.
any advice for a total novice would be gratefully recieved!

@NeuroParadise Hello, tune into 145.825 MHz, using your packet radio program and have a sat tracker with recent keps (keplerian elements), so that you know when they are going overhead at your location. Have a read at the ISS Fan Club to see if the crew are active or not or to see if the packet radio system is operational. Good luck.

Hello, I didn't use a TNC, I plugged the radio straight into the PC sound card and use software called AGW packet engine and UISS. Look for them and if you need further help, please email me.

Hi OH8XAT, let this be encouragement for you. I use a 5 watt hand held running through a power doubler, so 10 watts out, into an omnidirectional 1/4 wave on a mag mount.
Get into it mate. :-)
