This is the same engine with a strong Fresnel Lens. The steel wool adds power to the displacer piston as the light has a good focal target INSIDE the glass chamber Dramatically increasing efficiency. This is very important as most Stirling Engine lose 50% of their heat into the surrounding air. A vacuum would be even better. Also, because the glass chamber easily removes with a rubber O ring fitting, air can be replaces with a custom heat exchange gas.

  • Hi, where do you got this big Fresnel Lens from? and how much did you pay for it?

    greetz from germany :)

  • change those wheels with permanent magnets and somehow mantle the copper coil around it!! and then check how much electricity and voltage do you get!

  • Nope, no water. Just air. Stirling engines does not work with water. Google it. ;) This is not a steam engine.

  • Ever take it off any sweet jumps?

  • This setup would work well with induction.

You could place a tiny magnet on the wheel and spin it near a tightly wound copper wire.

  • You could do something insane, like put a long heat chamber down a parabolic trough & run several water mist injectors. Link several of these piston/heat chambers to a crank shaft & run a full sized generator.

Could even use fire to heat chambers when sun goes down, in an emergency.

  • Water should burst into flash steam inside the chamber, increasing pressure for more horse power.

Set it to squirt each time the piston reaches its lowest point.

Would turn that heat motor into an ICE motor that runs on sunlight & water, the combustion being water exploding into steam at timed intervals rather than gasoline or diesel exploding.

  • Here's a suggestion for dramatically increasing horse power.

First, replace that glass chamber with a strong, metal chamber. (you'll see why in a moment)

Next, tap a small water nozzle into chamber wall to shoot a few drops of water directly into chamber.

Hit chamber W/Fresnel. Squirt those drops of water on inner chamber wall right beneath the hot spot.

  • ok... it might be a good idea to hook it to a dynamo, and generate electricity... but what shall one do, when there is no sun? like a cloudy day, or during the night?

  • u bought that off ebay

  • i dont understand why china doesnt use this for powers all the need is solar panels and heating coils
