hhmm.... I have a good flexibility and no problem with touching ground with my heels, but when I stay longer i down dog I gather stress in my shoulder/neck area and it stops to feel comfortable.

I have really flat feet and this feels really good on them. Thanks for this! I didn't even realize how weird it was on my shoulders when I pressed back so much.

Great! It can also help to practice with soft knees. So many students are desperate to get their legs straight- if hamstrings are short all this does is cause curvature in the low spine because the sit-bones are pulled down by the hamstrings and are unable to lift. Lengthen the spine and get comfortable FIRST - then think about legs straightening.

Love this, I learned this from you about a year ago on video and it is the only way I practice, because it just feels better.. Thank you.

What a great insight. Thanks for sharing.
This is so creative and beautiful! Most of the time I can't get my heels to the floor, and my legs can't be straight. Always struggling with my knees... Will practise more.
Thanks Sadie =)

Hi lovely! Thanks--you can definitely build your flexibility in this pose! Nowadays, we don't try to take the heels down to the ground, but rather, balance the heels moving down with them also trying to lift so you integrate your leg bones into the hip joints and don't overstretch your Achilles tendons at the back of your heels. Just play your edge, and the perfect balance of strength and stretch will occur. Namaste! Sadie
