In DOCTOR WHO: THE DOCTOR, THE WIDOW AND THE WARDROBE, it's Christmas Eve, 1938, when Madge Arwell comes to the aid of an injured Spaceman Angel as she cycles home. He promises to repay her kindness -- all she has to do is make a wish.

Three years later, a devastated Madge escapes war-torn London with her two children for a dilapidated house in Dorset. She is crippled with grief at the news her husband has been lost over the channel, but determined to give Lily and Cyril the best Christmas ever. The Arwells are surprised to be greeted by a madcap caretaker whose mysterious Christmas gift leads them into a magical wintry world. Here, Madge will learn how to be braver than she ever thought possible. And that wishes can come true...

Starring: Matt Smith and Claire Skinner. Executive Producers: Steven Moffat, Piers Wenger and Caroline Skinner

  • OMG!!! Did NO ONE watch the end of series 6!? If you have well guess what, SPOILERS!!!

HE DIDN'T DIE AT LAKE SILENCIO!!! He just FAKED his death. Sorry, just got tired of seeing comment after comment "He died at the lake, he died at the lake. Blah blah blah."

Any who. Real excited for this years. Hoping it won't be a let down. Alot of living up to do in the long line of Who XMas Specials. I would like to know who is flying the TARDIS.

  • @Clix2001 Gallifreyans have a bypass respiratory system ,and can hold their breathe while remaining active for around twenty minutes, if given warning.

  • @Clix2001 Time Lords can do that for a certain period of time, I'm not sure how long, though.

  • Because I am on the space ship and I'm gonna get all..........smitherined

  • Wait, the Tardis has a soul, that was already established when it was given human form in the one ep earlier in the season. Wouldnt surprise me if she decided to pilot herself.

  • So heartbreaking . . .

  • @sedef122003 Haha, it's ok. I think I'll keep watching. I've seen every episode since 2005 so it seems a bit much to give up on now. I think people are a bit divided on the whole thing. Some love Steven Moffat's take and others would much prefer RTD to be back.

  • @Rose99991000 I'm sorry you feel that way, I personally have loved matt smiths time as the doctor and I hope it continues for a long time and I feel that steven moffat is a much better writer than RTD ever was, but if you've stopped enjoying it yes maybe you should stop watching it, at least until there is a new showrunner. Also after having re-read my old comment I feel I should apologise I came off as a bit of a dick.

  • @sedef122003 I'm not a full on hater of the new doctor who. But I'm kind of losing hope with it. I've watched all of season 5 and 6, and this christmas special, but I'm just not really impressed anymore. I was hoping it would get better, but maybe it's time to give up :/

  • Did anyone hear rivers theme throughout the video?

  • At the end, who else wa watching Matt dance in the upper right hand corner instead of the Christmas special in the lower left hand corner?

  • Next Christmas, a year after it aired, either that or 4/5 months from now, like they did with the Tennant's last episode, which we got *after* season 6 had finished.

To sum it up, it's screwed up any which way you look at it.
