Anime Expo 2011 Chibi Masquerade #3 Twilight Odyssey

New Ego Productions presents...Twilight Odyssey.
I got the idea for this skit after having seen a lot of anti-Twilight art on dA. Initially, the idea involved having stage ninjas lift the signs, but with little time remaining until the con, I decided any cosplay would work so long as the message was delivered. One of my original helpers wasn't replying to any of my calls/texts, and the other two had an inescapable matter to attend. After signing up, I asked a trio to be my back-ups, but they couldn't assist me either due to one of them getting food poisoning, and his two friends had to escort him out of the con. I ended up asking random cosplayers lining up for Chibi Masquerade, and I wound up with an extra. I only planned to have three helpers, but Tobi really wanted a part. Konan gave me a good suggestion to have Tobi run on stage to save our asses shortly after Green Lantern lifted his sign, which turned out supremely well. I have to admit, I got really panicked when the MC introduced us and thought the audience was gonna boo us off as soon as we got up there. Konan lifted her sign too early, but whether or not the audience thought that was part of the act worked to our advantage. I also goofed with baton-synching and forgot to tell the mike guys to start the audio after 16 seconds. Fortunately, the skit was a smashing success, and we got the longest applause.
