How do you explain the phrase "in her was found all the prophets and sainst, and all who were slain in the world" (Rev 18:24) or how does she sit on the "seven kings" (Rev 17:9).... I suspect Jerusalem may be the great city....

@nacho1560 The prophecy talking about fleeing into the wilderness already happened. This prophecy already happened around 70 a.d when Rome took down the temple. God is going to protect his people in the tribulation of the last days. Just make sure you have the blood of the lamb over your heart. 4 laws in the old testament. People think the 10 commandments were done away with at the death of Jesus but they confuse ceremonial laws with the eternal law of god written with his own finger.

The verse talking about fleeing into the wilderness is referring to that time. It has already been fulfilled. God is going to protect his people in the tribulation of the last days. Just make sure you have the blood of the lamb over your heart.

I agree that they should flee and Petra may indeed be a temporary place of safety, but Petra is not the place that Yahweh has prepared for His Elect. It is in Isaiah 33. Pay particular attention to what is described in verse 16. In verse 17, The King is Christ, King of kings, our Master. The land very far off is Israel. Study a map and fully study Isaiah. Do you believe Christ will gather His Elect and they will "stand" before the Son of Man, who will also be standing on 2 feet?
