New Star Trek transporter effect

This is a transporter effect inspired by the new Star Trek movie. The tutorial is part of the new Creative Cow Master Series DVD, Practical Particles, which demonstrates how to use Trapcode Particular in After Effects. The dvd should be on sale from www.creativecow.net around December 1, 2009...so look for it. It is jam packed with ready made royalty free projects using particles and also demonstrates a variety of usefull techniques and expressions.

The one thing that I don't like about this is that as you finished the transport cycle you foot was tapping. I don't like that.

What can I say? First off, this was stock footage I used, I did not film it specifically for this tutorial. Next, maybe he was in a hurry and teleportation was not fast enough for him.
