  • The only question I have is about types of cycles that are allowed in the ride. The reason I ask is due to the fact that I am a pedicab driver. The cycle that I ride/pedal carries four people. The two in front pedal, and the other two are passengers. Plus it's my form of transportation. If I could I would love to be evolved in a ride like this one.

  • @zawest2000 - Well, as far as I know, any human powered ROAD LEGAL vehicle (I don't think they allow scooters, or skate boards... but any kind of pedaled bike that has brakes and is legal to ride on a city street) is allowed. One consideration... there are some really tough grades on the route. I would probably suggest not carrying a passenger! but up to you. ;-)

  • @zawest2000 - maybe you could say the highest donor to the cause gets to ride... and the runner up has to pedal with you! ;-)

  • One heck of a ride! Sorry I'm not in shape. :-(

  • @NMERider - Next year! You got a year to train with us! ;-)

  • What about a trike squadron for the Tour de Palm Springs???

  • Hey dregerclock! I work at Tour de Cure and want to talk to you about this footage. Send me a private e-mail!

  • @dregerclock Not bad for a bunch of weirdos. You guys probably ended up in the slowest group but did you notice how others have to take a seat at the finish? That's why there is not such a thing as a DF grin. Those narrow saddles cut off the bloodstream to your grin muscles.

  • @hauserkaspar - we pretty much stayed close... Jim and Michael beat me up the switchback hill... We regrouped after the big hills in San Pedro... Jim did the 62 mile (metric)... then Trent and Derek and I pretty much rode the last 40 of the century together. ;-) Michael was ahead of us and stayed ahead to the finish line!

  • @sgsgent - HA! Yeah... I didn't get it on video... but there was one downhill switchback road where I was behind about 5 road bikes... they beat me up the hills for sure but on the downhills the trike's weight makes it really want to go down faster than the road bikes (and I can take the turns pretty fast... so I was burning up my brake pads trying not to run them down. Finally found an opening and passed them on the downhill. Would have been cool video. Bummer I didn't have it on!
