There's a video amongst the pictures. I'm sorry there's no audio, the audio blocked the video so I just took it out.

Instructions:

1. clear base coat

2. deep blue

3. sponge a thin layer of a lighter blue or silver over that, thin enough to not look or feel like it's a glob of nailpolish but thick enough so you can see the light blue over the blue. Put it on in the biggest section on the nail with the patronus (in the case of what I was doing, the thumb made the most sense as it's a trail of light AND I was going to have the doe and the stag facing each other) After that finger is ALMOST completely covered in light blue/silver, sponge on a little less onto the next nail, and a little less, and a little less, until you reach the length you want in your trail of light.

4. Write any words you want. On this example, I put "It All Ends" because of the movie poster. On my own nails later I put "I open at the end" (from the book for those who've read it) and a snitch. Then I kinda went all out and did the symbol of the deathly hallows (the triangle with the circle and the stick, kind of looks like an eye.) I did this in gold so it was a contrast to the whites, light blue/silver and glitter in the patronous.

5. Draw your patronous. I did the Doe and the Stag (Harry's patronous and Snape's, who helps them to find the sword of Griffindor) because they are exceptionally meaningful to the series, each other, and especially this last book. I did it in white so it really stuck out from it's light back ground and was the bright, glowing white light in the center.
TRIX: If you break the shape you're drawing down into separate shapes and then put it on the nail, it's a LOT easier.

6. When that's COMPLETELY dry, sponge on glow in the dark nail polish (optional) onto your patronous and your patronous' trail. If you don't want to do glow in the dark, that's fine. Adding glitter is another option, it looks really pretty in moderation. I used a glow in the dark polish that already had glitter in it, so I didn't add glitter separately. It really does glow, it just didn't show up on camera :/

7. Do your top coat.

8. Let dry and enjoy yourself some popcorn afterwards with the girls :)

ANY REQUESTS? ANY OTHER IDEAS TO PUT ON THIS DESIGN? SHOW ME WHAT YOU DID AND I'LL POST IT IN MY NEXT VIDEO, OR POST IT AS A VIDEO RESPONSE!
