It is always interesting to hear the far left advocate for "tolerance" and "acceptance" until someone has a different point of view than they hold and then the "tolerance" thing all the sudden becomes accusations of hate. Rick Warren is a Christian. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin. He is merely following his belief system. He is not saying that an individual is any less of a human being because they are homosexual. He is standing up for what he believes in and his view of marriage.

I never believed he'd pull through, not even once.

tavadon777, you are obviously not gay. If you were you would feel the pain that we're all in.

You're right... i was speaking in terms of the bigger picture..but in just the terms of the Gya and lesbain community you are right. Believe me it is hard for me to defend Obamas choice here because i instintivley hate it.but you're right about standing up,but do not misunderstand what Obama is doing.he is not trying to throw you under the bus,he is trying to be inclusive, he did make the boldest statement in support of full equality for the gay and lesbian community then any other president b4.

I hope to God he has a good explanation for this.

I don't think that by calling attention to Mr. Warren's vile words and asking why he is giving the invocation at a time when we gays and lesbians who supported Obama are truly hurting from having our rights voted away in any way dehumanizes him. We have been thrown under the bus by our supposed "friends" too many times and we always just meekly go on our way. I think we need to stand up for ourselves.

Do not fight fire with fire...fight it with water... I believe I am on the good side, but i will not dehumanize the other side just because they dehumanize us.. do not lower yourself to thier lvl... Change Obama spoke of wasnt just from conservative to liberal...it was from divissivness to unity... just because some dont prescribe to your particular brand of politics and fairness doesnt mean you get to exclude them... isnt that what the right has done to us for so many years?

Warren is a fool..whom we disagree with..I am on your side... i do not see how he can think the things he thinks... and still think himself a good man... but this is my world view and he has his and for 8 yrs the right said our view was wrong and tried to silence us and we cried foul... and now that the name we elected is doing something that is, perhaps misguided, reaching across the aisle we say no, they treat us badly so we shall treat them badly? No that is not how it should be...
I'm actually not sure what you're trying to say here. We shouldn't protest when Obama asks someone who compared our relationships to incest and child abuse to give the invocation at his inauguration?
Warren keeps saying he's for civil discourse--I don't believe his comments are civil.
