  • So there I am sitting in my car. I gave my daughter the key fob with mailbox keys attached so she could check the mail. As she left the car, the display flashed a warning saying something like the key is gone. (Elvis has left the building) went through my mind. I suppose it would then sound the alarm after a while. What's with that? Also how can I warm up my car? Can I just leave with the fob after starting the car, or do I leave the fob in the car and go away?

  • @dkw12002 The warning light on the dash and the beeping warns the driver that the

keys are not in the vehicle. The vehicle will remain on until it is turned

off. With this being said, you can warm up your vehicle and keep the keys

with you. Hope that helps! ^DG

  • hey, guys, does anyone know if every smart key has to have a mechanical key inside? i recently purchased a SH toyota corrola with the smart key system, and received two smart key fobs, but only one of them has a mechanical hey inside. have i been jipped?

  • @enderwigginfan You should have a metal key in the sides of both smart key fobs. If not, see your dealer. ^RF

  • Do you have to get the smart key when you buy the prius? Or can you just get normal keys?

  • @musicgirl2966 They all come with push button start. So no normal key is used. ^RF

  • Thats very nice im so getting it you guys do a good job keep it up Toyota!

  • @ToyotaUSA Also ppl can get into your car and drive away without the key when it already started. They can't restart the car. And you can't use the fob to lock when your car engine is running but you can use the mechanical key to lock and the catch you have to use the mechanical key to unlock too.

  • u guies did not explain the ac button

  • whats the point with prius? the released pollution that goes into the construction of components of this car, equals the polution of the construction AND the lifetime use of a normal car. enviromentalists are being fools

  • the land rover discovery and hummer h2 are more environmentally friendly than the prius

  • save the planet, crush a prius

  • My prius saved my life and I am never going to buy another conpanies hybrid but Toyotas prius.

  • @tobyisawesome100

Yea...Its a real EYESORE to the gas station every time my wife passes their pumps...A REAL EYESORE.

(But my wallet is in love with it :)

  • The small key are not friendly in giant hands!

  • does all the option only available selectively? my smart key has only a lock button & an unlock button, does that mean i can't customise the unlock 1-door/all-door option?
