Some conservatives have tried to spread the belief that Google is biased. Similar charges have successfully worked against the mainstream media and led to an erosion of public trust and dialogue. Imagine if some conservative opportunist created the Fox News of search engines... Kudos to Eric Schmidt for putting both free speech and his shareholder's interest above his personal beliefs.
