An easy way to play Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N' Roses on the uke!

See PART 2 for more details on strumming and playing the melody with the chords!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbgG9IDUXm0
Remember, to play along with the actual recording of the song, you'll need to put a capo on the first fret... well I guess you don't HAVE to but it'll be worlds easier.

To help you guys out:

(The strings on a uke go GCEA.. G being the closest string to you and A being farthest)

Chords used:
C - 0003
Bb- 3211
F - 2010

Verse:
C, Bb, F, C

Chorus:
Bb, F, C, C

First solo-
C, Bb, F, C

To play the melody within the chords like I do later in the lesson, use mainly the E string, 3rd and 1st fret, and open. Just sorta squeeze the notes in with your ring finger or pinky when they feel right.

  • I have the exact ukulele model. Is there any reason why the Makala tenor has the C string made of metal?

  • @metaldesire4 It's actually a nylon string wound with aluminum. You'll see some sets of Tenor strings like that.. I think it's just to give the C string a little more boom to it, since it's the lowest string (pitch-wise).

  • strum pattern?

  • @Monkeydex96 Check out part 2 of the tutorial for a little more detail on the strumming.

  • how many frets does your uke need to be

  • @DJsuyat Eight frets I believe
