Hemisphere (original)

This is a piece I wrote for a composition class earlier this year. At the time, it was a little beyond my piano skills. I think I've finally improved enough to give it a decent performance.

The last few months have been a little crazy for me. Life always comes in waves, you know? It's better now, and I've started writing again. I'll start uploading some new stuff just as soon as I get it finished.

As I listened, I pictured the everyday, the status quo, the safe and serene but with a dark underlying element. Then around 1:27 it took on a yearning quality and took a new direction, as if it was giving birth to new life.

Next came the struggles of overcoming obstacles and finally a new dawn with the vision of the many changes ahead.

It gets better every time you hear it. ^^ I loved it.
