  • wow

  • He is not doing a posture demonstration, he is doing a strength conditioning demonstration. He is leaning forward because there is a lot of tension on the bunjee cords.

  • you have probably recieve other mesages but just in case here is my contribution

well althought it is true that his stance is not correct, you must understand that what he want his student to understand is the importance of the hip muscle in the practice of karate, the exercise targeted that region all the time so the may fell how it is like when those muscle are working

  • if you look carefuly he is leaning forward all the time bad posture!

  • Just looked him up: Isaka is a former JKA competitor and champion . He is in his mid to late 60's and I believe he teaches in England.

Apparently he is quite well known and belongs to a breakoff group from JKA. I think he is in the organization run by Yahara sensei.

  • No idea who he is but this is worth doing...

We used this back in the 60's at Sugiyama's dojo in Chicago.

  • this is an old training concept. We used to do it with either rubber tubes or one's belt. But this guy is beyond weird. who is he, where did he get his Hachi-Dan ?

  • Yeah - boil them first then tie them together - 3 is enough.
