His Majesty the King's Birthday 2010 - The Speech

His Majesty King Bhumiphol Adulyadej gives a short address to gathered dignitaries and the Thai people. He spoke of patience and sacrifice, doing one's duty with right intention. Doing good is not an old fashioned thing, but we must not be discouraged when results don't appear immediately. With perseverance and patience, we will surely see a good result in the future.

"To build ourselves or to build up the country, it won't finish in one day. I takes time. It requires perseverance.

"We need to be patient and sacrifice ourselves. Most importantly, we must have patience and must not be discouraged.

"We must not be pulled back from the good things. Doing the good things might be boring. Sometimes, it seems that it is not working.

"(Doing good things) is not famous or sometimes looks old-fashioned. But I would like to assure that doing good things is not old-fashioned.

"If we have patience, we'll see the result of our patience in the future for sure."
