A video I made for the Christian pro-family organization, Capitol Resource Institute, exposing the hypocrisy of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) National Day of Silence. While the Day of Silence claims to draw attention to "anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools," the intolerant, abusive, and even violent actions of its supporters reveal their true goal--to silence all opposing viewpoint by any means necessary, including force and intimidation. Apparently they're only opposed to "name-calling, bullying, and harassment when it's directed against them

  • I do not condone any of the messages in this video. Those callers were clearly in the wrong. However, all of this "persecuted because I'm a Christian" propaganda is really over the top. How many American Christians do you know that have been murdered because of their religious beliefs in the past 10 years? I don't know of any. I can tell you of THOUSANDS of LGBT people that have committed suicide, been murdered, or brutally attacked in hate crimes, Let's get real real here.

  • iprazhm - I would like to know these "unique" dieseases. If you speak of AIDS/HIV you are wrong. Please check with your doctor and see how "unique" it really is. Also, tell me the last time a gay person murdered someone for being a straight person. I want to know where you get your proof from. I like to use the US Census and other credible websites. Your chirch is not credible BTW. Seriously go back to school, get some better education then religious education.

  • so stupid how ignorant and hateful people are. its a way of life and a choice. the way the christians are acting makes me ashamed to be one. ignorance is the sin here, not homosexuality.

  • @tpetdoctor You are right, many Christian groups try to play the innocent and so do the other side, fact is: Somewhere in the middle is the truth. WE have to conduct ourselves as activists in a positive way and not give them anything to point at--which is impossible given they'll find anything even suicide statistics for gay youth and put their spin on it

  • Let me also say this: I am sick of traditional value groups like the MFC Minesota family council telling people that these children who committed suicide in the Anoka-Hennepin district did so because of the 'depraved lifestyle' they did it because of pressure to conform to what they were not and bullying--they needed help and information and they didn't get it. The Day of Silence is a wonderful idea because people are STILL being killed for being GLBT

  • Any kind of harassment is wrong! It doesn't matter if you are pro or anti. People are sick of being told that they are the scum of society--are there better ways to deal with this? Yes, but the reality is that people are angry and fed up! The guy did have a point though: Stay out of the neighborhoods if they don't like you. I want to mention that in the US people being killed because of their Christian values are rare yet it is those who hold those views that feel necessary to kill LGBT people

  • @DiederickABecker Anyone who commits suicide has something wrong with them, gay or straight. My lack of sympathy for suicide victoms extends beyond gay suicides; anyone who can't live with the choices they've made, and then tries to take the "easy way out" and probably hurts everyone they know in the process doesn't deserve sympathy in my book. (by the way, don't say it isn't the "easy way out", because if you commit suicide, you obviously think that dying is easier/better than living.)

  • Awww... let's all find "sympathy" for the hate filled anti-equality zealots: in the dictionary---between "shit" and "syphillis".

  • @AuromKantana It says a lot about your empathic abilities that you are unable to recognize the kind of stuff that goes into such a 'choice'. Gay teen suicides are mostly committed by gay teens who have nothing wrong with them - go figure.

  • @DiederickABecker I have no pity for those who kill themselves. If you make a choice, you need to be able to accept the consequences. I'd say you've really run out of arguments when you start asking for pity because you tried to kill yourself.

  • @DiederickABecker That day will come. Sorry you will be left behind.

  • @stpkeaton That wouldn't make me sad at all. Quite the contrary: I'd be celebrating!
