Oh, I didn't knew that, I like Ubuntu but I think it would be better if it came with a bit more graphics, like it or not that attracts people, I know it can look really nice with compiz and themes, etc... but the default looks a bit like Windows 98 to me.

Yeah they need a good graphics designer, but the advantage of not using too much graphics is on the speed.

they could have done it so much nicer. why do they allays bring such a boring style in the default config? just a few nicer colours on the panels and stylish wallpaper and the entire os would seem much more interesting to most of the ppl who are not used to config the gui. ubuntu is a linux version that is knownto be good for linux starters. if you just put a little work in it, you can make a config that bashes all microsoft and apple os in the world. sad thing that default is so boring

When you say they need a good graphics designer you fail to realise that the entire ubuntu forum are the graphics designers, and the ideas for the boot splash were posted on a thread
