@daisy20071 Na, I found this video by accident & could not resist the urge to vent my frustration. I'm sorry! I should have never said anything about his wife.

@whatsmy420 And yet you've taken the time to find this video, watch it, and comment on it. And if you've done that with this video I bet there are dozens, if not 100s with which you've done the same. Talk about wasted time.

Excellent mod there, I used kitchen role myself for much the same effect
-
dude you totally look like chuck
-
Yeah I already did it the long way. I had to take it apart to mod the strum bar and since I was already half way there I took the neck apart too. Thanks anyway.

Sorry for the late response...best way is to grab both ends and "pull" straight up or directly away from the neck. Don't try to do it from just one side...you will break your fret. If that doesn't work for you..take the guitar apart. It's not hard and then you can just pinch the clips that hold them in place.

OK, I'm not having any luck getting the fret off. I do what you do in the video and the fret just bends and looks like it's about to snap in two. Is there some ancient chinese technique you're using to get it off? or could the fact that I sent in the original guitar to get a new "fixed" one have something to do with it?
-
I'm very aware of that...in fact, I own one. The frets on the RB2 strat are quieter only because they basically used this mod. Instead of the adhesive foam, they used a type of rubber gasket around the guide. I felt they still weren't quiet enough and applied this mod and made them even quieter.
-
The rockband 2 guitar will have less quieter button less squishy strum bar and a whole new look! :)
-
No, the plastic goes on the tip of the fret guide, just like what I showed. I know it's hard to see, but that's the only place. The plastic is used to lengthen the fret guide just enough to activate the key with a light touch vs having to push extra hard.
-
Does the clear plastic go on top of the foam for the B and O frets? Or just use the plastic and no foam?

Thanks for this vid. I have to play with headphones when im really concentrating on a song because of that incessant clicking messing my timing up!!!lol! Makes me wanna throw it at the wall. Gonna try this tonight when i get to wal mart.

haha.
i'm thinking about modding my les paul.
the one where you make the dettachable neck is tighter.
-
Yea, I play on Expert. Am I an expert? Hell no. :)
-
this is a great mod.
i haven't applied it yet though.
do you play on expert?
-
Okay, cool. I do have to admit, it works really really well. :)
-
Some don't, but I played next to my wife a lot and she used the LP. Compare to the LP, the frets are crazy loud. It is a matter of personal preference and I'm not the only one that has commented on it. I did this mod mainly for myself, but I figured I would share what I did in case anybody thought the same way.
-
I never thought the frets on the Strat were loud at all.
Have you ever looked at that clock behind you on the wall & wondered how much time you waste on this kid game? Are you embarrassed that you are a grown man who plays a child's toy? Wow, you went through all that time to "mod" a fake plastic guitar so that it would not make clicking noises! Have you ever wondered why your wife is so disappointed with you? I'm pretty sure she tells her friends that you touch the children's toys more than her.

@whatsmy420 You know, normally I erase posts like these, but this one I'll leave up since it's far more embarrassing for you than me.
