Cases where Polygamy would have solved a problem

Two callers to a talk show explain situations where a husband marrying another woman would have been positive.

Dr. Laura also took a call on 3-31-08 where a woman said she had aneurysms and and couldn't walk. Hr husband was having an affair for one year and she said "I can't start over" and "I have nowhere to go." It is sad that we have women like this that suffer and who will never understand the concept of men having two wives

@kristich78 I agree with that! Isn't that really the issue. Abuse. Polygamy is so looked down upon because the people who tend to practice it also practice abuse of it. Child marriages, lack of education, ect. I don't see what's wrong with a loving relationship between educated individuals either. I wouldn't want my daughter treated like that either!

At about 1:10 on, the text says, "Islam has the only solution on Earth for situations like this". Newsflash. Islam is not the only organization, group, or religion to promote polygyny.  It was practiced near after the creation of all things. The first recorded polygynist is Lamech, but there is speculation that Adam had a first wife before Chawwah named Lilith.

Cleanup the objectification of women and children, sexual assaults, patriarchal tyranny, dictatorships and dynasties fostered in the name of Islam before slamming "The West" and assigning your failed prescription for social problems. BTW have you really asked all of those women what they feel about polygamy? I'm not against polygamy, I am against ignorant men telling all women how to live while trying to strip them of their free will and personal identity.

OMG (no pun intended) you must really be obsessed with having multiple wives to senselessly prescribe polygamy as the cure-all to issues unrelated to your desire for polygamy. First of all, polygamy is practiced in many cultures outside of Islamic practices. Second, you're failing to recognize the conflict created in the East as a result of Islam.

Polygamy has been in the Jewish & Christian faith, including the Mormons & others. Marriage is a religious sacrament & govt has no place in the church business, just like churches have no place in the government business.

Islam doesn't corner the market on polygamy, nor did it initiate polygamy before other faiths did.

Islam, like all other religions, is man-made.

A fabulous solution would be to eliminate marriage and allow people freedom to have or dissolve life-long relationships.

Another great solution to the world's problems would be for the global population to realize that the dogmatic beliefs that so many have senselessly died for is all fiction.
