The Lazy Bookfinder/ Anythingfinder

An invention that takes the form of a website that can take you to a library book by using a video guided path.

I have already created a successful prototype at the Asotin Coutny Library in Clarkston, WA. In that library, you can search any book's call number, and a video will play that takes you to the shelf or section the book is in.

You can type in "Fic Cam", for example, to find a book by Albert Camus.

The next step in my plan is to use a video uploading and inventory site that will allow libraries and other organizations to upload their videos, and other data, and make it easy for them to make their own version of the Lazy Bookfinder. This could mean inventory at a grocery store, warehouse, or for seats at a baseball stadium.

People can then use the website to find a video path to what they need. For example, I can visit (the fictional place) Grocery Island's Bookfinder site, type in 'milk', and a video will play showing me the path to it.

To create this site I would like the help of a number of web developers, and I will need to promote the site and do demos to get the movement started. In the end, I hope that this new technology that I have invented will make the world a better place and give people a new way for people to search for physical objects in the real world.

I have already succeeded in making a prototype with the help of a number of volunteers including a lot of help from my girlfriend. I hope the fact that it already works and can be replicated with no cost speaks a lot for the scalability of the idea.
