An Interview with Kris Kumar, Regional Head, Asia Pacific, Digital Realty Trust

Digital Realty Trust entered the Asia Pacific market in late 2010 with the strategic acquisition of a data center facility in Singapore.

In this video interview, Kris Kumar narrates how Digital Realty Trust has made excellent progress in the past six months and how the company is on-track with its customer acquisition goals in the next 2-3 years.

Kris highlighted Digital Realty Trust offers a unique value proposition as the leading global provider of customer driven data center solutions. Its data center assets allow Digital Realty to cater to a broad base of customers by offering customers a wide variety of data centre solutions tailored to their specific needs; complete business, operational, financial and transparency; technical and operational expertise, and a track record of greater than five 9's uptime across its portfolio.

Kris also identified technology complexity, high demands of the business for just in time inventory and scarcity of capital as main drivers for companies opting to outsource and adopt the lease model as opposed to building their own data centers. This trend, he said, is common across enterprises in the US, Europe and APAC.

As Digital Realty Trust focuses to meet customers' significant data centre needs in APAC, the company will remain dedicated to its 'green' initiatives, according to Kumar. Digital Realty's asset in Jurong East is one of the only two properties in Singapore that has the Green Mark Code Certification.
