humm i think its 7/4 all the way. Just that the first bar is divided 4 - 3 then 3 - 4. I think some of you are confused by the quartolet in the begining of the second bar.

You are right about 7/8 then 4/4 then 7/8 7/8. But you can't say "it can't be 7/4" because the bottom numbers are to make it easier to read. It has no influence on the music because you can argue a song in 6/8 is in 3/4 and vice versa.

Sounds to me like the fist and last main sections of the tune are alternating between 7/8 and 4/4, while the middle section of the tune is in 3/4. The way they play at the very end is probably just free.
