Final Fantasy XII Test Speedrun - Gabranth, Cid, and Famfrit

In case you're wondering, the cutscene with Gabranth in the middle of the battle is quite a bit longer if Basch is in the party at that point.

Famfrit is definitely the hardest boss in this run. It can take forever to inflict oil on him. Waterja will most likely wipe out my party, so I equip Viking Coats just before to nullify it. One improvement would be to use a reflectga mote and reflect firaga onto him (like with Slyt); I only use items to heal during that part anyway. After I killed Famfrit, it shouldn't have taken so long to defeat Cid, but I forgot to berserk Basch (whoops).

There's a little bit of time right after Famfrit is summoned, before Cid puts up his paling; is it possible to kill Cid during this time? It would make this battle so much easier.

@Dreus77 Since this was a speedrun, I skipped most enemies throughout the game; thus my party is underleveled.

I can give you a tips for After Famfrit is down, Zodiac Spear is better at that time, trust me it deals 10 times as much damage to cid at that time

Really? Too bad I won't be getting both the Fomalhauts and the Zodiac Spear in the actual run.

Another thing I noticed when re-watching this is that Ashe still has her Golden Armlet equipped. Does she really need the LP, or would there be another item that could speed the fights along?

After doing this run, I don't think the golden amulets are still needed at this point. Better accessories is something that I'm planning to look into for my next run.

The gatling gun thing is true, I just tried it ;D

cids guns deals alot of time critical damage and famrit can mess up ur whole plan

anyways

i think cid is weaker since he can move around

i heard that if u stand behind cid while his gatling gun it wont hit that character so maybe u can get behind him with 1 char so u 100% survive

That's possible to kill Cid before his paling but you need a Dark Matter charged to 60 000 (maybe less than that).

In one of Zero's video, you can see that.

But another way to kill him before his paling, I don't think so.
