There are many h pylori blood tests out there. A good H Pylori blood test will show history of h pylori infection or present infection if it shows the right immune markers. If the lab test shows IgM that will denote a present infection, if the lab test shows IgG, that denotes a past or present infection (depending if IgM is elevated or present).

I got tested at my doctor by a blood test . I don't even know how long I've had it. I had symptoms of nausea heart burn bloating and gas. I'm on two antibiotics and nexium. I'm glad I went to the doctor.

Amoxil 1g , 1 bd for 7 days
Clarithromycin 0.5g , 1 b.d. for 7 days
Omeprazole 20mg , 1 b.d. for 7 days

rather dismissive of the accuracy of the (13C) urea breath test.
false negatives and positives are usually down to not following the procedure correctly - and the procedure is simple enough.
