such a beautiful song, but this video/adaptation has straight up creepy connotations attached to it. A lil too creepy -- takes away from the romanticism relating to the loss of love of the song .

@myusernameiscrystal You're perfectly welcome to your own opinions. But thank you for the input -- it tells me I actually did my job right with this one. This piece was for a film class, and we were supposed to alter the video to give a different connotation to the song. =]

On the Ben Folds iTunes Originals, Folds explains that the song "Mess" is "loss of innocence song" about having so much baggage that now you are unable to completely explain your history; "you've made a mess."
