Liszt transcription (1835 - 1837) of Beethoven 5th Symphony op.67
Idil Biret played Liszt's piano transcriptions of the nine Beethoven Symphonies in 1986. The four recitals were broadcast live to Europe. This was the first known public performance of the series in its entirety. The same year, Idil Biret recorded all the nine symphonies. She later played these in concerts in London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich, Istanbul and other cities. The performances and recordings received worldwide critical acclaim:

Corriera Della Sera (Italy) : Biret conquers by dominating the whole
Gramophone (England) : This is a remarkable achievement
Le Nouvel Observateur (France) : A symphonic depth rarely heard until now.
Munchner Merkur (Germany) : Performance of the 5th symphony in the Herkulesaal received a thundering ovation.
New York Magazine (USA) : Biret's taste, technique and sound musical decisions are admirable.
Le Soir (Belgium) : Biret played the 5th and the 7th with spirit, great technical ease, breathtaking virtuosity and implacable energy.

  • @recipoldinasty Great you liked it, and don't worry I have being mad before too and usually behave similar :D Have you hear the Choral fantasy for piano and orchestra of Beethoven? That's on of my top 10 list!

  • @epifaniopineda ur completely right i was just mad...oh I heard that sonata before and did not remember his name thanks ou so much love it .3

  • @recipoldinasty I don't see why any one should be "tagged" as retarded just to express his though's about something... We learn new things every day, so unless you know everything, which is impossible, you must be a retarded too every time you learn something knew... Fur Elise is not a "sonata", it's a well know bagatelle, which is a "short piece of music"... I know both but my top Beethoven piano sonata is the No. 21 "Waldstein" interpreted by Gilels... search it in Youtube, you will love it!

  • @epifaniopineda sorry for this but u are a retarded cus every symphony in the world was composed on a PIANO and beethoven is actually mroe famous cus of hes piano sonattes than for hes symphonies...listen to fur elise or moonlight sonatta...sorry for my bad english

  • @Phersephoie Have you heard Leslie Howard's version?

  • just a tiny bit faster I think would make it perfect for me...and a little more feeling to it maybe...still, great interpretation...

  • I have no idea this could exist, I mean Beethoven symphonies in piano versions, it´s simple amazing!! Thanks for post it!
