  • What hormones are you taking?

  • @StylyDutch I know that in this country it is hard to reach a gynecologist but if you explain these issues to your huisart, s/he will definitely let you see one. All you need is an ultrasonic device thing. It does not hurt at all.

I was 16 when I was diagnosed, I have started the hormones only this year and I now realize that I should have done that earlier in stead of letting myself suffer all those years trying to lose weight and be less stressed.

  • PCOS is horrible, I agree but it is not disastrous. I have always wanted kids and I am scared now that I know it will be harder. All the weight issues etc.. but if I want it to happen, I know it will.

Well, in the end, I lead a happy life. I love and I am loved, I can move, I can breathe, I can eat yummy food, I can work,... It is nice to find answers, but I am aware of PCOS and I am also aware of the fact that I should not overdramatize it.

    cheers everyone!

  • Aside from weight issues, PCOS women come in all shapes & forms, which does not necessarily preclude you from conceiving...it is important to remember, you cannot be on clomid, metformin or bcp without proper diagnosis & proper monitoring so that you follow the correct treatment path. Not all PCOS sufferers are insulin resistant. You need to be followed by a competent health care provider in order to beat this distressing disorder...good luck!

  • Weird as it may sound, but I wouldn't care if I got cancer (yes I know cancer can cause death).

I've never wanted kids either so it's ok.

I probably don't have it anyway, but if I do, I'd rather die than getting it checked.

  • go get it checked...... it can lead to endometriosis, uterine cancer, ovaian cancer.... go get it checked.

  • I'm only 19, but I have quite a lot of those symptoms. My period comes once every 3-5 months or so. Last time it lasted for about 2/3 months.. so I'd call that very irregular.

I also have a fairly deep voice, Im pretty mascular and I have a lot of long thick black hairs on my upper legs, few on my chest, stomach and some finer, but still very long hairs on my back and face.

I'm not really worried and definitely not nearly worried enough to get it checked out, but does it sound familiar?
