71000 Duke of Gloucester makes a noisy exit from London Victoria platform 2. The class 67 diesel directly behind the Duke is producing hot air for carriage heating.
This is the Venice-Simplon Orient (VSOE) charter train from Victoria - Shalford - Victoria on 5 Nov 10.
The Venice Simplon-Orient Express was a private luxury train service traveling from London to Venice.
The original company was founded by James Sherwood in 1982; five years earlier, in 1977, he purchased two of the original carriages at the auction when the Compagnie International des Wagons-Lits withdrew from the Orient Express service, passing on the service to the national railways of France, Germany, and Austria. Over the next few years, he spent a total of $16 million purchasing 35 sleeper, restaurant and Pullman carriages. On 25 May 1982, the first London-Venice run was made.
@al46115 Thanks. It's a shame I forgot to turn the camera off, and let the battery go flat. My later videos were done on my mobile phone.

@TangmereTornado It can be a bit unnerving standing on that platform when the engine leaves.

Excellent shooting! I was on that platform, in fact you can see me from about 1:04 onwards, I'm directly to the left of the 20 sign, on the edge of Platform 1, filming the train leaving that way :) Was well worth being there I must say, great to experiance the Duke in the flesh, even if I got a faceful of steam for the trouble!
