Cheat curls ? About 3 months ago I could not get this up for 1 rep so it's quite an accomplishment for me considering that I only weigh 140 lbs. What am I doing right what am I doing wrong ? One thing I noticed is how my elbows are moving a bit too much forward thus bringing the bar to my chin and working my shoulders. Instead I was thinking about just keeping my elbows in place and the bar would come more to my neck instead of my chin. However, I do get a bit more of a contraction on my biceps if i shift my elbows forward slightly like I do in the video. I made this video to look at my form, if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know what I can do to improve my form. I always keep an open mind. P.S Please don't leave comments about not using the squat rack to curl. No one uses the racks anyhow at the time that I train. I'm not going to argue with anyone about this.

  • @kingofcraig hahahaha I know what you mean , one thing is doing and another thing is doing. I knew how to bulk but did not do it because i was kinda like in a state of "i don't give a dam" towards the end of the year then i said to myself at least get to your old weight (which i am now 145) .. but I was starting to be content about being 130 lbs when i had to do something about my situation blah blah blah

  • @rickalex21 Yeah I know there is a lot of advice for bodybuilders on utube about diets etc. I am not to great on the diet side as i have a bad one lol.

  • @kingofcraig yup, most of my battles are in the kitchen not really in the gym LOL I just say as long as i can get these next lbs id be ok... so if can make it to 155 ill figure out a way to make it to 165 ....

  • @rickalex21 Yeah man - Well if you want 16s then go for it you are working really hard so it will come in time :)

  • @kingofcraig ya thanks, I think even if i did not make it to 200 230 lbs or visible abs i could die a happy man next year if i have 16" arms.. i would be ok with that , im 5 ft 3 so they would look big on me... i know it sounds kinda gay but ive been measuring guys around the gym n 16" arms look big to me.... recently a black guy 190 lbs 5 11 who i think looks good has 16 1/4 n they look good to me... go figure im only 5 3 so i would be more than content LOL Currently 14 , was 13.

  • @rickalex21 Yeah you are doing really well. I can see the difference you look bigger and stronger. You are on track to make your target weight :)

  • @kingofcraig thanks, ya ill keep that in mind but you are right bend to get a full contraction... i prob wont use as much weight anymore because i want to hit 4 5 sets with the same weight using different grips to work short head long head . And ya im a bit heavier now looking forward to make 160 165 by AUG... that would put me at a good chance of deadlifting 405 and benching 300 315 or close to it.

  • @rickalex21 Yeah you are getting half the range there. Still really good though. You are using a lot of weight and sometimes when you push your max weight you have to cheat alittle at first. Keep it up and just try and bend them elbows lol. As you know yourself the contraction of the bi's and moment is needed to get full use out of the muscles. I think your gym work is paying off you look a lot bigger then before :)
