Part 3: The Led Zeppelin reunion takes flight on the Stairway, & carries with them 90,000+ along for the ride. Does anybody remember laughter?

This clip has been cleaned up: the green hues from the 20 yr old + tape has been removed, the brightness & contrast have been balanced out.
The audio has been synchronized to the FM broadcast captured on an old cassette tape. That audio was pretty messed up & had lots of dropouts, hopefully the results are satisfactory.

Enjoy!!!

Watch in HQ with headphones (if possible)

  • I was @ this show - 7/13/85. If you listen closely, just about at 3:58-4:00, you can hear Phil Collins almost coming in too early (clicking his sticks). What you don't see tho', due to a Pull Out CROWD Shot, is/was Robert Plant gesturing to him (Phil) NOT to come in, as it was still 1 verse away (after, "& the Forests will Echo with Laughter..."). -- Before 10am, already in the mid 90's, but we had Dead Center seats about 50' back, so we could see the Screens from Wembley Stadium. What a day.

  • Still takes two drummers to replace bonham

  • Cocaine was never a good drug for music performance

  • sounds like a train wreck . except a train wreck i would watch

  • ...I meant Plant comes in way early..after the guitar solo...at the end of the song. He comes in perfectly fine at the beginning of the song..just early on the, "And as we wind on down the road!"

  • Page is stoned drunk here and Collins was lost as he didn't know the drum parts, Jones fine and Plant, well, can't hit the notes on that super hot and humid day in Philadelphia & damn, he comes in singing way early, before page was anyway near the cue in part.

A mess but well, it was for charity so, people came in droves to see "Zep" and many other bands that day, like the opening act, Sabbath with Ozzy. JFK stadium in Philly is long gone now. BTW Frampton's largest concert ever....JFK stadium.

  • @bing1769 Phil Collins is an amazing drummer.

  • @top20modernrock It would never be the same without Freddie though

  • roberts voice is goin on him even thou i luv the song and band they lost the magic they once had when bonam passed in there day i think they surpassed the beatles on popularity which when you think of it is a huge achievement

  • Whats there to say this song has had the most radio play in rok history that is a fact it's in the guiness book of records.
