This is a flashing LED third brake light that I converted for use on my 98' Ford Escort. It is my first LED conversion project and fairly simple and straighforward in design. This is also my first YouTube upload and therefore after the first 30 seconds or so, it pauses for the rest of the video. Just skip the remaining video. I'll try to do better next time!

  • Does it continue to flash, or does it go ateady after the initial flashes? A flashing red means "Stop then proceed when safe", while a steady red light means "Stop and stay stopped", like someone should do when your brake lights are on. (steady)

  • The circuit flashes about 5 or 6 times and then stays steady as long as the brake is applied. When you let off the brake and re-apply them, the process starts over.

  • Nice light, but why did you make this 3:47 long? Is there a hidden subliminal message or something?

  • Thanks, I probably should have made it with 14 LED's instead of 7.

As for the length, it was also my first YouTube upload and I uploaded the wrong file. I had noted that in my description in the upper right. So any one looking at it, just stop the video after a few seconds as it will take you over 3 minutes to watch the whole thing. Sorry everyone!
