I am writing a new plugin for DAZ Carrara that simulates ocean waves. I know Carrara already has an Ocean primitive, but mine improves on it in several ways:
Adjustable mesh detail (you control how much, or how little detail is used)
Variable level of detail in mesh (show fine detail in center, but leave edges rough, saving memory)
separate swell & local wave control
Future feature: dynamic waves created by other objects! (my next challenge)

  • Are you still working on this?

  • Woot, woot!

    How is this project going?

  • Great, I will be fist to use it! I have tried the ocean primitive and it only works OK... You will need to replicate it at least 20X20 to have a descent ocean and then it is a stand still to render. Let me know if you want any testing.
