As a space that is intended to give voice to the black queer community, this year the Queer Black Cinema International Film Festival will also shed light on issues directly effecting the Queer communities of color. On Saturday, October 17th 3:00-5:00pm film festival will have tribute rally to remember queer youth of color who have been killed as a result of hate crimes throughout the country, as well as to shed light on the impact of hate-based violence in our community. The rally will take place in the center of Harlem, and will include queer youth of color organizations in the New York area, tribute performances, speakers, multimedia presentation and a march around the Block in remembrance of the Fallen Angels. Following the Tribute is a Queer Youth of Color film screening.
