“Lincoln”? More like “Liberal Propaganda”. This movie was Lincoln's second assassination. No mention about the Democrat’s desire to maintain slavery, just multiple negative references to Republicans, cigar smoke and a sly reference to Lincolns pornographic slave pictures—“put those (pictures) back you scoundrel.” Lincoln comes across as a wimpy Confucius as he looks down; hands crossed between his legs, while he tells weird irrelevant stories. What an awful attempt to rewrite history.

Spielberg trailer always suck. Saving Private Ryan gave me a bad impression from the teaser but the film was so worth it.

This film is as poignant as Saving Private Ryan. Spielberg's always been conscious when it comes to race relations and he uses Lincoln as a vehicle to shine a spotlight on modern day race-politics. This is almost entirely encapsulated in the wonderful scene between Lincoln & Elizabeth Keckley. Can't say I'm surprised Christy wasn't moved by this, she doesn't seem to be particularly socio-culturally astute or racially aware. Nothing about the films' themes is mentioned here at all. Shallow review

I guess I would've liked the Democrats a little bit more convincing. They seemed more like generic villains than real, but I guess that's politicians XD, and Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus was so great I wanted a spin-off of just that character. I'm not sure how this movie couldn't move someone, but I wasn't moved by Perks of a Wallflower at all, and everyone loved that, so I should keep my mouth shut I guess.

I think that these reviewers did a nice job. The comments posted here remind me of the recent SNL skit on the hateful annonymous things neurotics post. Always be honest and disagree if you desire, that's cool, but it's actually easier to be decent than nasty and hateful. I don't agree with many of these reviewers comments, but they did a nice job on presenting their perspectives.

:-) but a man can try. I wanted to. Make a film about the 13 amendment and say CT unanimously voted against it? Harriet Beecher Stow was from CT. Her father and Grandfather preached in my church,, In 1820 the town was dived in two and another church was built because 1/2 wanted to focus on freeing the slaves. Revisionists blame the C war on Congregationalists in CT like John Brown. (we did fund him) In 1730 we had "The First Great Awakening" & most was to stop slavery. CT is just small.
