Here's a lesson from fingerstyle cittern master Joseph Sobol on how to play an Irish jig with fingerstyle technique, incorporating melody, harmony, and Irish-style ornamentation, on a 10-string (5 course) instrument tuned GDGDG. Recorded at Zoukfest 2001 in Taos, New Mexico.

  • Absolutely fantastic.

  • Great stuff, thanks so much for posting this. I remember seeing you several years ago at the Swannanoa Gathering playing a session with Steve Baughman, Robin Bullock, and Andrew Magill.

  • GDGDG is a good tuning"!
