I think this video does the song more justice than the 1992 MTV version. A lot of people no doubt mistook this for an African tune, when it is in fact from the Solomon islands. At least this way it gives a greater perspective on the whole world than drawing wrong conclusions.

I've been searching for this song for ages!!! they use to show this song on SBS (an australian Channel) and i use to just sit and watch this everytime it would come on, no matter how many times i've seen it already ..there are no words to describe the feeling i got when i watched this as a kid and even now it gives me that same feeling, even after all these years! Thanks to Deep Forest for the beautiful music and Much Alofas to my brothers and sisters of the solomon islands! P.I. 4 Life!!!

The boy is in a dream thats why it starts off with such surrealism. He then loses himself and begins his quest to be reunited with his beloved mother and along the journey certain things trigger comparisons with what makes his mother, 'his mother' and so he takes a closer look but it isnt to be and so he continues his search, until he opens his eyes to find his beloved mother cradling him with a (hence the title) 'SWEET LULLABY'....

Beautiful. My son now almost 19 used to calm down when he would hear this song, I could close my eyes and feel myself holding him, rocking him
