- Cloth Physics Simulation created in Blender 2.49b
- Each flag has something like 15.000 faces (maybe too much ;-) )
- 6,5 GB of temp data generated for the entire animation. o_Ô
- Music is from EVE soundtrack 2003 (industrial_02) (yes, I know, its not fading out ;P )
- Rendered with AMD 2600+ single core

  • Is that it? Just four banners floating in the wind? That doesn't give any details about the races themselves. 15 seconds of this would have been a good intro to a video showing some of the ships and tactics of the four races...by itself, pretty but way too long and quite boring.

  • @Kiljaedenas I created this animation when I started with Blender. It was just about rendering some high detailed cloth simulation. :)

  • 6.5gb! That's some serious baking!

Looks very nice. What was the render time?

  • @draeath Hm, can't exactly tell because I generated all the cloth data before I rendered the frames. But the good thing is, you don't need to create the cloth data extra, it will also be created frame by frame when you just start the rendering. All incl. each frame maybe 3min (single core, you know ;-) ) Would make 150hours. O_O Perhaps not so much, can't remember.

@All: Thanks for responding! :-) I like Blender 2.49, it's great! Maybe one day I check out the 2.53beta. Go spread the word! :-)

@swedishatwar In the eve forums he said blender, which i have experimented with too. it's good, though very different from other 3d-modelling programs. But it's open source ^^

  • What program are you useing :S i use Xara 3D for some 3D stuffs. But that looks just awsome :)
