  • Thanks to all who have shared their comments, and opinions. Weather you agree with me or not, I feel this is a good resource for people wanting more info on the journey of Suboxone. I do not think it is for everyone but it is right for me. I wanted something other than Methadone to treat my disease, so that I could continue to be a mother and a wife. I wasn't emotionally strong enough to leave my kids, to enter inpatient. I hope you will look at all my vids as information as it is intended.

  • your still taking opiates. sorry, you got a long way to go. your not off pills. you taking suboxone!! its an opiate.. a drug. sorry to break it to you..

  • @pwdossey418 I appreciate your comment. But your opinion is not a new one. There are many that disagree with what I am doing. I know what sober means technically. But to me right or wrong I am sober. I am not high. No euphoria. I am taking a drug to treat my disease. Just as a diabetic would take insulin. Addiction IS a disease, will I need this forever, No. But right now it is the best thing I can do, to be with my family. I wasn't strong enough to leave my kids and go to detox.

  • do you still think suboxone is a good way to quit just curious?

  • @gyselboy Yes I am a huge believer in this medication, is it perfect, hell no, is it the best choice for maintenance treatment, I beleive yes absoultly. I cant spell for shiz!!lol. If I could go back I would do it again. I am getting close to the jumping off point, I will proly be off by late winter. I am scared but confident in my choice.

  • sry im on methadone at some point you will have to get off it, im on 70mg methadone and I feel like a ghost of my old self. when you choose to get off it you will have withdraw maybe even worse then what you where on before. what are you doing, legally prescribes? injecting/snorting/popping ect.

  • @crookshanks576 I am legally prescribed. And I am on a better plan to get off. I just went through a really hard time with my husband we have had an easy 9 years and just went through a trying time. This could have been earth shattering for me but I am staying strong for my marriage, and he told me that me continuing the Suboxone like I am is really hard for him, so I told him I want to put more effort into my sobreity.

  • its interesting how the American application for 'sober' is used,in England the words used in relation to alcohol not drugs. Anyway hope you stayed off the gear. X

  • Suboxone may be a partial opiate but I'd much rather take that then heroin everyday.. People just don't know and are quick to say SUBOXONE IS A DRUG..well they're right but it also keeps people alive until they can get off of it. Think of suboxone as a cast for a broken arm, you don't wear a cast forever but for the moment it keeps you from hurting your arm anymore then it already is (just like suboxone keeps some people from relapsing over and over again)

    -Get a clue

  • I just finished suboxone after 9 wks. I'm having some withdraws from it but have allot of support from my husband and kids. I was addicted to pain pills for two years and that was the worse two years of my life! Good luck to you...

  • Almost three yrs. now, Are You off Subs ?

  • @darlingmama09 Gosh darn, I pressed the wrong button on my computer & it won't change. I didn't mean to have it say thumbs down to your post. , but it won't change to thumbs up...damn....Good luck on your recovery.

  • Really proud of you girl. So many people struggle with this. (I for one), and to come out and talk about it, really makes others like myself not feel alone with this. I just wanted to mention that I take Ultram (Non-narcotic pain medicine since u mentioned ur back), with the suboxone & it actually helps & doesn't coincide with the Suboxone. My problem is that I had a bunch of surgeries in my armpit when I had breast implants, & so when I take the suboxone, my arms are feel like pinched nerves.

  • Be proud of yourself... Im about to start Suboxone and scared as hell! Your very courageous.

  • Good luck, keep fighting and weaning off subs. There are not designed to be taken for longer then 10 days FYI. DR's will not tell you this. nonetheless it is a big choice to see a DR in regards to your addiction. Good job taking the right steps! Best of luck

  • have you used round the clock magnesium/calcium?gives back the minerals to nerves that drug took out-it relaxed so LESS CRAVINGS-hope u do well-keep on-no withdrawal cramps-b/c magnesium RELAXESmuscles-a study used magnesium/calcium-to stop suicidal compulsion IN ONE WEEK-patients felt relief-happier-is there interest among your friends for this type of nutrition project?also mag/calc will help even when using-especially cures constipation-it takes the drug poison out of the body-TRYIT
