Any reason why you wouldn't just click on the BACKUP WIZARD in cpanel? It emails a zipped copy of your site to you in a few simple easy to follow clicks. Takes about 1 minute to do.

Yes, the method you suggests works well for when you want a manual backup. The point of this video, however, is to demonstrate how to have an automated backup solution that, once set up, will require no intervention from the website owner,
