Brazil is considered one of the most diverse countries in the world.

But it too suffers from widespread racial discrimination with black Brazilians often finding themselves at the bottom of the social ladder.

Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman visited Bahia, the heart of Brazil's black culture.

Man I feel for these guys. I'm an Afro-American so I guess I can understand discrimination. But racism in America was probably this severe about 50 years ago before the Civil Rights Movement. I guess black Brazilians need their own movement. Slavery did a number on those of us from West Africa.
