being a petrolhead peter brock is by far australias greatest sporting hero. Those guys like moffat brock geohegan etc fuck they had some balls driving those old cars.Unlike other sports these guys took the ultimate risks as they could have easily ended up being killed.

@frozen4N20 Colin Bond won the '72 race for brook. He went out super hard and the Falcons had to chase after him or risk losing. They wrecked their cars trying to keep up qualifying pace with Bond. Bonds car also blew up and Brook just did a Sunday drive to the win. Colin Bond = Greatest team player ever!

one word sums up brocky bloody legend.

@Sodiumreactor Whats that big black thing there that Alan Moffat is driving!

@Brainman94 Don't agree either, Brock was a freak, and when he was in his 30's he could have adapted to anything as proven by his success in rally and sports sedans. He was as good as anyone in the world in the late 70's.

where are the Falcons? Is this the year they didnt have them anymore?

@mallamoozoo Why did all the Bathurst drivers have both hands on the wheel and Brocky hardly never while he was laping most drivers if you dont understand this then you know nothing about motor sport driving these old cars with road tyres and stock brakes takes alot of skill and your are trying to compare race cars that are fully engineered with a budget that runs into millions when this is 1979 with a $5000 grand car he had to take it easy in the A9X because the gearbox was to weak

@TheDemonsarehere You dont understand race car driving if you think that - its the OPPOSITE - driving with one arm on the door like a sunday drive proves that its, well ... as easy as a sunday drive! You can't do that in F1 as they pull 5G's (thats almost enough to pull ur eyeballs out - they gotta hold on for dear life let alone car control!. 1990s F1 compared to 70's tin top is like flying an F18 jet fighter compared to flying a kite in the park!
-
@Brainman94 If you knew anything about Brock his feet where to big to drive F1 cars Senna or Schumacher would crash a car like this takes real skill to drive with one arm on the door like its a sunday drive but thats our Brocky raced street cars.

Epic!!!
first place every single lap,
finished 6 laps ahead of 2nd place and a lap record on his final lap.....
Epic!!!!
Brock was pure class, at his best he ruled the mountain he was like a machine lapping everyone as if they stood!! Brock and Holden were unstoppable and this was one of his greatest wins, the others were 1984 last of big bangers" and his first Bathurst win 1972 when he beat the almighty Ford GTHO 351 V8 in a little Holden ah!! that's right it was a 6 cylinder.....ha....ha...ha eat your heart Ford fans!!

I wish Ford put half the resources Holden does into the sport. I guess they make up for that on the Ovals. :)

Well the simple fact of the matter is that every driver will have some form of racing that fits their style best. Brainman needs to understand that there have been countless (more bad ones than good ones) piss poor F1 drivers, when you compare them to Hamilton, Senna, etc. I'll agree that on a whole, F1 has the best in the world, but, odds are that Brocky could beat 90%, or more of them, in these cars.

Come off it - you cant even compare a mere tin-top driver to ANY of the 800 F1 drivers in history - they are in a whole different league. Senna or Schumacher could beat brock blindfolded or blind drunk or both!
Brainman94 3 years ago
I don't agree with that at all...
nolanbowling 3 years ago
Well maybe not both blindfolded and blind drunk - just either or.
