On Friday April 16, International Longshore & Warehouse Union members in Vancouver, BC, Canada gathered on the sidewalks in front of the British Consulate in support of the miners of the Rio Tinto borax mine in Boron, California.

Rio Tinto, the second largest mining company in the world, has locked out nearly 600 of its workers since January 31, 2010 from the I.L.W.U. Local 30 after trying to force a contract ultimatum onto its workers.

I.L.W.U. members in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Boston and Vancouver united as one to let the public know of Rio Tintos' long and disgusting history with respect to their treatment of workers, communities and the environment in North America and around the world.
