CORAOPOLIS, Pa. - A World War II veteran, 86 year-old David Rohm was awarded the Purple Heart on March 7, 2009, for injuries he sustained bailing out of his crippled B-17 aircraft, sixty-five years ago. The 171st Air Refueling Wing hosted the event.

  • I watched this video on a computer with no sound. Was he awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the B-17 BEFORE he bailed out or for hypothermia AFTER he bailed out?
