  • 4-8-11: Here's an update on my 1-19-11 PKR. After nine weeks of Therapy that was tougher than I expected, I have graduated! I played a little Racquetball last Saturday.

The toughest part of my PKR recovery was the stiffness that I experienced in my Quad muscle above the knee. As this stiffness has lessened, my knee is starting to feel "Normal" again. Here's a tip: Pick your Physical Therapist before surgery, and set a before surgery benchmark. After surgery, expect a tough rehab.

    Good luck!

  • @6Hokie9 Congratulations on getting back into racquetball. Good luck in future tournaments. Besides faster recovery and less bone cuts partial knee replacement got you back in the game. -Dr. Snyder

Hey Dr Snyder! Looking forward to seeing you on my follow up soon. Who sez you can't play Racquetball or Handball with a PKR? Conformis (and a great Surgeon) makes it possible!

  • Dr Synder operated on my right knee on 1-19-11. As I recoop from the surgery, the ConforMis implant already feels better than my old "bone on bone" knee. ConforMis is state of the art, and the idea of custom manufacturing and fitting a partial knee replacement made a lot of sense to me. Why would I want an off the shelf appliance that required extensive bone removal? I fully expect to be back on the Raquetball court in 6 weeks. By the way, I just turned 63..... Thank you, Dr Snyder!!
